This just in from the City of Chicago Department of Buildings…
For building permit application #100530078 in the image featured here: Ventilation Review DENIED, Fire Prevention Review DENIED, Plumbing Review DENIED, and ARCHITECTURAL & FIRE REVIEW DENIED. Yikes!
Why’s it so important? 56AB is owned by our Board President, Anthony Milazzo.
Note more specifically just what he got busted on:
FIRE PREVENTION REVIEW: Exit shall be provided without passing through a bedroom, bathroom or toilet room [13-64-060]. – DISCONTINUE ACCESS TO SECOND EXIT THROUGH CLOSET/BEDROOM.
PLUMBING REVIEW: Soil, Waste, and Vent Pipes [18-29-702.1]: No PVC allowed in commercial building. – REMOVE REFERENCE TO PVC PIPING, NOT ALLOWED IN HIGH RISE BUILDING.
Lastly, remember a few months ago the brouhaha over the Board’s impassioned mandate to inspect units for PVC?
Apparently, what’s good for the goose, isn’t necessarily good for the gander here at 111. Rules apply to some but not the privileged few.
